Breaking Down Walls small.jpg

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 (ESV)

The pastors and elders of Central are calling our people to a week of specific, intentional prayer. During these difficult and uncertain times it is vital that the people of God seek the heart of God on behalf of our world, nation and community.

Every day for this week you will have a specific area/topic to pray over. We will provide a few prayer points and examples but we ask that you spend some time considering how this week will be most impactful for you and your family.

DAY 1     |     DAY 2     |     DAY 3     |     DAY 4     |     DAY 5     |     DAY 6     |     DAY 7

  • That each individual and family would seek God to hear from Him and know Him more

  • That God would bring unity in the body of Central as we seek Him together

  • That God would begin to break down walls of division and fear

  • That God would awaken us to be a light in a dark time

  • Plan and set aside intentional time each day this week for prayer

  • Talk to your family about your plan for the week and how you can make it effective for everyone

  • Read through the topic and prompts on this page each day keeping the overall goals in focus

  • Find daily videos from our pastors and other helpful examples posted on Central's social media (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube)

  • Be creative and stay open to the ways God may lead you to action

  • Take notes, journal your thoughts or take pictures/videos to remind you of this time and the things that God is showing

Fasting is denying your flesh so that you can draw closer to God. Fasting usually is done with food, but it can be other things such as your tech devices.

We are asking that you take one of our days of prayer and fast from something so that you can draw closer to God in prayer.

“And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.  But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Matthew 6:16-18 (ESV)

This starts as an individual discipline to seek God and listen to His voice. But there is a unifying aspect of praying together as a church body that allows us to encourage one another along the way.

Please share victories, encouragements, photos, etc. during the week and tag Central in your post. You can also use the hashtag #centralrrprayer.

We have provided a playlist of songs that will help you focus your mind on Jesus and drawing near to Him.

Use this before/after your prayer time or as you prayer walk your neighborhood and other places throughout the week.

  • The lists of prayer points are meant as a starting point and are not extensive. Please add to the lists and pray as the spirit leads you and your family. Feel free to share!

  • The action examples are suggestions. Please do what fits your family dynamic and feel free to be creative.

  • The focus of this week is prayer. Any action steps beyond simply crying out to God are secondary and meant as an additional support. Please don't miss prayer for the sake of another activity.
