Lake Creek Property Purchase

Central has an exciting opportunity to expand our campus by purchasing the adjacent 1.5-acre property north of our current location. While this was not something our leadership actively sought, we believe God has directed our path and laid this opportunity before us.

Earlier this summer, we began discussing the sale of our mission house property on Chisholm Trail. It was an unusual property, and we expected it might take months or even years to find the right buyer. Yet, in God’s providence, an offer came just one week after listing. It was more than we could have hoped for!

At the same time, we learned that the property next to us on Lake Creek would soon be on the market. This has been a property our church leadership has desired for years, yet we have never had the opportunity to purchase it.

Once again, in God’s perfect timing, the sale of the mission house positioned us to negotiate a fair price for this property. He has guided every step. Our elders and operations team are in unanimous agreement: this is the right step at the right time for Central.

FAQs

What are the short-term plans for this property?

We will use it for additional parking as our church grows. The existing building is unsafe and will be removed, along with the old fence. We will also create improved pathways to better connect the new parking area with our campus.

What are the long-term plans for this property?

This property gives us space to grow and plan for the future. While we are not yet at the point of building, this acquisition allows us to dream and prepare for the continued expansion of our church.

What is the cost of the property?

Including purchase, survey, attorney fees, demolition, and other construction, we estimate the total cost at approximately $1,155,000.

How much cash do we have available?

We netted about $520,000 from the sale of the mission house earlier this year. Additionally, frugal spending, especially in our facilities last year, brought us in under budget. So the mission house proceeds and last year’s unspent budget bring our total available cash to $605,000.

How much do we need to raise?

Our elders are challenging Central to make this purchase without going into debt, viewing it as a step of faith, obedience, and stewardship. After applying available cash, we need to raise $550,000. Any money given towards the Make Room Offering will first go towards the purchase of this property and then towards any future enhancements to our campus.

Central’s leadership believes God has graciously opened this door for us. We are called to walk through it with faith and obedience. Every gift, large or small, is a meaningful step in our collective obedience and investment in God’s kingdom.

Every person matters.

Every sacrifice matters.

Every dollar matters.

We believe God is up to something incredible, and this land is a key part of the next chapter for Central.
