Prayer Points - Vol 8

Psalm 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Let us praise God for what He has done in our lives, what He is doing and what He will do as we reach out to Him in prayer.

Zechariah 9:14 Then the Lord will appear over them; his arrow will flash like lightning. The Sovereign Lord will sound the trumpet; he will march in the storms of the south,

I know that I have taken this out of context, but let us pray for those in the path of hurricane Florence. Let us pray that in this storm, and all of the storms in our lives, God will be glorified and that people will turn to Him.

James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Let us pray for the widows and single moms in our congregation and throughout our city, that God would be their comfort and grant them peace, that He would be their provision and that He would reveal to them His plan for their lives.

1 Timothy 5:4 But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God.

Let us pray for those who are the care givers to their elderly parents. Let us ask God to give them rest and restoration and to renew their strength and their spirit.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Let us ask God to grace us with the fruit of the Spirit that we may represent Him well t this lost and dying world. Let us pray for His help in keeping us in step with Him, that we may not go before Him nor behind Him nor wander off in our own direction.

Acts 2:2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

Let us pray for the wind, Spirit of God, (The Greek word for Spirit is pneuma (Strongs 4151), which has a similar meaning to the word ruach. “Pneuma; to breathe, blow, primarily denotes the wind.) To blow into the lives of those who have requested prayer this week for their lungs and breathing issues. Let us pray for their physical healing and for all of us to receive an extra mantle of the Holy Spirit in our lives to work through us and strengthen us.

James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Let us pray for the marriages in our congregation that are under trial. Let us ask God to give all of us perseverance that we may receive the promise. Let us pray for our services this week, that God will bless marriages and bind them together in the heavenlies.

John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Let us ask God to bless us with love that we may pour it out on those that He brings into our everyday lives. Let us pray for unconditional love, to love as God loves, to love everyone regardless of who they are.

Ephesians 6: 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

Let us pray for the mission trip to Latvia
